NAGERCOIL: : The Government has allotted Rs.12 lakhs for desilting Pazahayar river for the benefit of residents of Nagercoil and farmers in the district. It will be desilted in a phased manner under food-for-work scheme. According to sources, the District Rural Development Agency has begun desilting work on Tuesday. It will be completed within three months. The people of Vadaserry, Ozhugunaserry, Kodhaigramam and Suchindram areas have expressed happiness over this move.
