Indian women and Jordan men on top

CHENNAI: Indian women and Jordan men were on top of the field after the 11th match (First of Round Robin 3) in the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle-East zonal championships now in progress at Dhaka.

The Indian ladies had totalled 218 followed by Pakistan, Jordan, Bangladesh and Palestine, while the men were placed third at 184 below Jordan (195.65) and Paksitan (192.50).

In the India-Pakistan match in the second round robin, India got 14 VPS against 16 VPS by Pakistan.

The Indian pairs were doing well till the 15h board when they were leading by 191 MPS. In deal 16, where Kiran Nadar and Satyanarayan missed bidding a little slam, the opponents bid and made, India losing 10.

Point positions:

Men: Jordan (195.65), Pakistan (192.50), India (184), Sri Lanka (164.85) and Bangladesh (114):

Ladies: India (218), Pakistan (204), Jordan (201), Palestine (110) and Bangladesh (109).
