PONDICHERRY: S. Kumaraswamy, an IAS officer of AGMU cadre (belonging to 1991 batch), and Secretary to Pondicherry Administration, assumed charge as Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Pondicherry on Monday, an Election Department source told The Hindu on Tuesday. Earlier a source in Pondicherry Chief Secretariat said the Election Commission of India had in consultation with Pondicherry Government appointed Mr. Kumaraswamy as the CEO vice M. Sathiyavathy, who had been relieved from the administration following her assignment to the ISRO at Bangalore.
