CHENNAI: Twenty-seven from Tamil Nadu — 15 from Chennai and 12 from Coimbatore — have qualified for the AirTel One India Challenge car rally finals to be held in May 14. These contestants will compete with contestants from other states. As a part of the selection process, the participants had to fulfil certain criteria specified by FMSCI — minimum of 21 years and driving experience of at least 3 years. The vehicles had to be a minimum of 980cc capacity, Euro II compliant and registered in the year 2000 or thereafter. The qualifying round involved a drive of 20-25 kms and a quiz about the landmark route.
