KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted anticipatory bail to Elsy Joseph of Mary Queens High School, Kudianmala, Kannur, in a case relating to opening of the SSLC question paper bundle of social science paper II. The bail was granted by Justice K.R Udayabhanu. According to the petitioner, she was innocent. She was the Deputy Chief Superintendent of SSLC examination in Nirmala High Secondary School, Chemberi, Kannur. She had opened a bundle of question papers of the social science paper-II by mistake. In fact, the examination for the social science paper -II was scheduled for March 21. The bundle was opened on March 18 when the examination of the social science paper-I was scheduled. The prosecution case was that the Chief Superintendent of the examination and the Deputy Superintendent opened the bundle without the consent of the two teachers who were signed as witnesses on the bundle. The petitioner submitted that when they realised that they had opened the wrong bundle, it was immediately sealed and they did not leak the question papers.
