No power

There will be no power supply in the following areas under the Annur substation on May 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to maintenance shutdown: Annur, Kuppapalayam, Odderpalayam, Kembanacikenpalayam, Kariyampalayam, Paduvampalli, Pogalir, Ganesapuram and Pasur.

Similarly, there will be no power supply in the following areas under the Periyanaickenpalayam substation on May 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to maintenance shutdown: PN Palayam, Naickanpalayam, Kovanur, Koundampalayam, Jothipuram, Press Colony, Chinnamadampalayam, Veerapandy No. 4, Malipalayam, Agragarasamakulam, Vellamadai, Koilpalayam, Kottaipalayam,Vayampalayam, Athipalayam, Keeranam, Idigarai, Sengalipalayam, NSN Palayam, Poochiyur, Thoppampatti, Chinnathadagam, Pannimadai, Nanjundapuram, No. 24 Veerapandi, Mangarai and Anakatti.

Office-bearers elected

The following are office-bearers of the Tamil Nadu Government Office Assistants and Basic Servants District Association: A. Selvarasu (president), T. M. Balu and A. Mahalingam (vice-presidents) and R. Palaniswamy (treasurer).

Infant abandoned

The Tirupur police rescued a two-month-old boy found abandoned near a Councillor's house at Thirumalainagar on Tuesday. The baby is said to be fine.
