COIMBATORE: A three-member gang was arrested here on Tuesday on charges of currency doubling.

According to the Kattoor police, a car was intercepted at gunpoint near the Ram Temple in Ram Nagar, after it tried to speed away.

The police recovered white paper bundles cut to the size of currency notes from Dhandapani (49) of Tirupur, Balan (36) of Dharmapuri and Nellai Ganesan (65) of Tirunelveli, both residing at Rathnapuri.

A sum of Rs. 20,000 was also recovered from them.
