Two jailed for graft

HYDERABAD:
A former employee of the Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board (APSEB), K. Keshava Reddy, was sentenced to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and pay Rs. 3,000 fine, as he was found guilty in a corruption case.
Reddy was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials in 1998 on the charge of accepting Rs. 1,500 bribe while he was working as Billing Superintendent in the office of the Assistant Accounts Officer in Saroornagar of Ranga Reddy district, a press release said.
In another case, a former Divisional Fire Officer (DFO) of State Workshop in Hyderabad, G. Mahaboob Basha, was sentenced to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and pay Rs. 3,000 fine following his conviction in a corruption case.
The DFO was arrested on June 8, 1994, by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for receiving Rs. 200 bribe from a complainant, a press release said.
