Two die as cylinder explodes

Two workers were killed and another suffered injuries when a gas cylinder blew up at Sarvotham Steel Factory in Medchal on Tuesday. Mithilesh (26) and Vinod Sahu (24) were segregating iron scrap material on the factory premises when they stumbled upon an abandoned gas cylinder. They tried to cut its pipe when sparks flew, igniting the gas inside.

Petty quarrel leads to murder

A coconut seller, Nagi Reddy, allegedly stabbed a vegetable vendor, Kumaramma (45), to death following an argument over a petty matter at Lenin Nagar crossroads in the L.B. Nagar police station area on Tuesday. Reddy entered into an argument with the woman over location of his stall on Tuesday evening. He picked up the knife from his pushcart and attacked the woman.

Woman found murdered

An unidentified woman, clad in burqa and aged around 25, was found murdered in the open land belonging to the Sainath Cooperative Society at Bahadurpalli village of Dundigal on Tuesday. More than six knife injuries were found on the body.

Succumbs to injuries

A painter, Ghouse (24), who was attacked with a cricket bat allegedly by an auto-rickshaw driver, Khadir (30), four days ago, succumbed to injuries at OGH on Tuesday.

Held on cheating charge

The Kukatpally police arrested a film producer, S. Mohan, and his associate, Satish Chandra, on the charge of duping people to the tune of Rs. 1.3 crores by selling Government land claiming it as their own. When buyers began construction, authorities issued notices to them.

The accused issued cheques to the buyers to compensate the loss. However, the clients approached police as the cheques bounced.

SSC student ends life

A 17-year-old boy, who failed in the SSC examination for third time in a row, committed suicide by setting himself afire at Gowthaminagar in Malkajgiri on Tuesday. Ragahvendra's charred body was found inside the penthouse around 4 p.m
