HYDERABAD: The Confederation of Welfare Associations, a body of 40 registered welfare associations in the twin cities, has charged the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) with thrusting a `wrong billing method' on water users resulting in a steep increase in the monthly bills. The board has introduced the new billing system two months ago. "Instead of following the new slab-wise rates, it is arbitrarily charging on a flat rate basis. The common man is badly hit by the increased water bills," the confederation chairman, G. Satynarayana, and the general secretary, N.S. Narayana, maintained here on Tuesday.
