THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Electricity Employees' Confederation, affiliated to the INTUC, has resolved to align with the National Congress (Indira), led by K.Karunakaran. The confederation has been a pro-A group organisation with the Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, as president and Thampanoor Ravi as general secretary. The A group in the Congress had degenerated into a `caucus' in the hands of a few leaders who did not enjoy mass support, alleged Kalliyur Murali, State secretary of the confederation. Without Mr. Karunakarn, the Congress in Kerala had no relevance. The UDF government in the State had not done anything to protect the interests of party workers. The pro-Congress organisations in the government departments and public sector undertakings, including the KSEB, had been neglected. Under the prevailing conditions, it was meaningless to continue associating with the Congress, he said.
