Man electrocuted

VIJAYAWADA: A watchman was electrocuted near a commercial complex, which was under construction, on the Bandar road on Tuesday.

According to the Machavaram police, B. Madhusudana Rao (25), working as a watchman at the commercial complex, attended duty in the morning. When he was carrying an iron sheet, a live wire came in contact with the sheet killing Rao on the spot.

Cash stolen

Some unidentified persons broke toolbox of a motorcycle and took away Rs. 95,000 from it at Autonagar on Tuesday.

According to the Patamata police, P. Venkataramana, a trader from Autonagar, withdrew Rs. 1 lakh from the Benz Circle branch of a private bank. He stopped for a while at his friend's shop and went inside by parking the motorcycle on the roadside. On his return, he found the box broken and the money stolen.
