KOCHI: The City Police have ruled out the theft motive in the murder of K. K. Mohammed Ali, film producer and lottery agency owner, who was found murdered at his residence at Vazhakala on Saturday. The Director of Forensic Laboratory, Thiruvananthapuram, visited the site of crime on Tuesday and collected evidence. Only the front door was found broken open and the forensic experts are of the opinion that the door was damaged from inside the house.Even though, the mobile phone and wristwatch of the victim were reportedly missing, the police found the wristwatch from the house itself.
Mobile phone
The mobile phone was active till 10 a.m. on Saturday and was last traced at Kottayam before it was switched off. Fingerprints from the site were collected from the site. The container, from which the suspect had sprinkled chilli powder all over the site to cover tracks, and the knife that was found at the site were sent to the forensic laboratory at Hyderabad. Chilli powder was also found on the knife. The laboratory at Hyderabad has advanced technology to trace even the faintest fingerprints, which might not be picked up by conventional methods. The deceased used to run a lottery agency and had been the executive producer of one Malayalam film, Bharthavudyogam. He was producing a new film, Chandrakalamaanathu at the time of his death.
