Letters to the Editor
The MPs belonging to the NDA must be made to pay for their irresponsible behaviour by implementing the "no work no pay" rule. Merely not signing-in and foregoing their daily allowance is not enough. Wages proportionate to the number of days they abstain from the Lok Sabha should be deducted from their pay packets, just like any other employee.
R.C. Acharya,
The Opposition's continuing abstention from Parliament, despite an appeal from the Prime Minister, amounts to a betrayal of the masses whose grievances it is expected to voice. The NDA, which rode roughshod over similar reservations expressed by the Congress and persisted with George Fernandes during its rule, should not be complaining this time.
It is sad that our MPs are acting in this manner disrupting Parliament's functioning, resulting in the waste of precious time and money. When India and Pakistan can have a peaceful dialogue why can two or more political parties (Opposition) not have the same?
M. Kumar,
