Thundershowers likely in T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres: Manamelkudi 12, Tamaraipakkam (Tiruvallur dt.), 8 and Adirampatnam 7.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Srimushnam (Cuddalore dt.), Nellore, Gudur (Nellore dt.) 5 each, Tondi, Vazahapadi (Salem dt.), Rasipuram (Namakkal dt.), Kulithalai (Karur dt.) and Hukkeri (Belgaum dt.) 4 each, Cholavaram (Tiruvallur dt.), Karaikal, Pattukottai (Thanjavur dt.), Musiri (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Sendamangalam (Namakkal dt.) and Perambalaur 3 each.south Kerala, rose appreciably at one or two places over south coastal Tamil Nadu, rose at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Anantapur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius in the region.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal and north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Friday morning): Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
