Efforts on to unite Hurriyat factions

Shujaat Bukhari

SRINAGAR: Efforts to unite the various factions of the Hurriyat gained momentum with Syed Ali Geelani constituting a five-member committee to further discussions.

Those associated with the process say that a meeting between Mr. Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq of another faction may take place in the near future but the broad contours of the discussion on unity may not change. The moderates are keen to offer militants a berth in their executive council.
