VATHALUR (CUDDAPAH DT.): The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, released a pro-Congress poster brought out by the Cuddapah District Rythu Sangham at Vathalur in Pullampet mandal on Wednesday. The poster depicted Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy building an irrigation project by placing brick upon brick and the TDP President, N. Chandrababu Naidu, breaking it with a crowbar on the other end. The poster was designed by the Rythu Sangham general secretary, D. Chandramouleeswara Reddy. It warned he TDP of dire straits if it opposed irrigation projects. taken up by the Rajasekhara Reddy Government.
Police pay scales
The Chief Minister promised equal pay scales to police personnel on par with their counterparts in the Revenue and Education Departments. Dr. Reddy promised justice to the police personnel by regrouping their pay scales in the Ninth Pay Revision, after receiving a memorandum from the district President of A.P. Police Officers Association, M. Chandrasekhar Reddy, and Secretary, N. Sudhakar. The financial burden on the exchequer would be only around Rs. 25 crores, as 90 per cent of the 80,000 police personnel in the State reached the proposed scales, they explained.
