VISAKHAPATNAM:
Posting a record sales turnover of Rs.435 crores during April, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant displayed its mettle on the production front, turning out the best ever performance for any April month since inception.
According to a VSP release, during the month it produced 3.45 lakh tonnes of hot metal, 3.12 lakh tonnes of liquid steel and 2.59 tonnes of saleable steel. The value added production worked out 70,084 tonnes. VSP's steel melt shop achieved the highest lining life of 122 heats from the steel ladle 29 which is the highest achieved so far for any ladle.
