BANGALORE: Three people were killed in road accidents in and around Bangalore on Tuesday. Raju (45) of Kengeri Satellite Town was killed on the spot when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus hit his moped at the junction of Mysore Road and Ring Road at 2.20 p.m. In another accident reported from the same junction around 3 p.m., Shiva (27) of Thyagarajanagar suffered serious injuries when a lorry transporting sand hit his motorcycle. Shiva, who was rushed to Victoria Hospital, died around midnight, the police said. ' The Byatarayanapura traffic police have seized the bus and the lorry. In the third incident, a lorry ran over a pedestrian, Tejo Kumar (35), an employee of MICO, when he was crossing the road at Jigani bus stand in Bannerghatta police station limits in Bangalore Rural district around 9.30 p.m.

The driver sped away after the accident. When the public gave chase, the driver abandoned the lorry and fled, the police said. The Bannerghatta police have registered a case and seized the vehicle.
