BANGALORE: For want of adequate infrastructure and shortage of students, five pre-university colleges in Bangalore have been derecognised by the PU Department. The department has asked parents not to admit their children to these colleges for the academic year 2005-06. The colleges are: AES Composite PU College, Kammagondanahalli; Bharukha PU College, Tumkur Road; R.T. Nagar Swatantra PU College, KHM Block, Ganganagar; Amrutha PU College, Amruthahalli (all in Bangalore North); and Divyajyothi PU College (in Bangalore South), the PU Department Director, D.N. Nayak, said in an official release.
Free admission
The Yadava College in Madhavanagar will admit 50 students from poor families who have scored 80 per cent marks or more in the SSLC examination to its first year PU Science and Commerce courses without charging a fee. Courses introduced
The Hymamshu Jyothi Kala Peetha Composite PU College on 4th Main, Malleswaram, has introduced 1st year PU classes in two Science combinations, PCMB and PCME, this academic year. More information about the college is available on phone (23367190/23340371).
