NSS to follow `equi-distance' policy in bypolls

KOTTAYAM:
The Nair Service Society (NSS) will stick to its avowed policy of `equi-distance' from all political parties in the byelections in Azhikode and Koothuparamba, the NSS assistant secretary, G. Sukumaran Nair, has said.
According to him, the NSS does not see any need to change the policy under the current circumstances. In any case, the byelections will not be a venue for experimenting with any change in the policy, he said.
Asked on the issue of the NSS and the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam taking a common policy in the coming byelections, Mr. Sukumaran Nair said the last sitting of the coordinating committee had not discussed such issues. The SNDP is expected to host the next sitting of the committee and the time, place and agenda will be finalised shortly, he said.
