No clear favourite in final

Sports Reporter

Thrissur: There will be no clear favourite when Travancore Titanium meets Viva Kerala in the final of the N.I. David memorial State club championship at the Corporation stadium here on Friday.

Though on paper Titanium is the more experienced team it will need more than that to counter the youthful exuberance of Viva Kerala. The Thiruvananthapuram side won all its matches in the tournament riding on the scoring prowess of its prolific striker Ebin Rose. The 27-year-old has so far netted nine of the 12 goals scored by his team. The striker holds the key to Titanium's fortune in the final also. Viva coach Chathunni, who was in the stands watching the semifinal, must have already given instructions to his defenders to bottle Ebin Rose up.

Titanium needs to tighten its defensive game. In the earlier matches, the Thiruvananthapuram side had shown a tendency to be complacent after taking the lead. It resulted in a few goals through counterattacks. Titanium cannot afford to repeat the mistake in the final.
