Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
The Common Entrance Examination for Polytechnics-2005 (CEEP) has seen a decline in the pass percentage this year, with only 84.15 per cent of the students clearing the test as against 94.38 per cent last year.
The Director, Technical Education, G. Anantha Ramu, who released the results, said 46,980 candidates qualified out of 55,826 who appeared for the test. Girls registered a better performance than boys, while SC and ST candidates also fared well.
All SC and ST candidates would be considered for admission irrespective of their qualifying mark if the seats meant for them go vacant, he said.
Vendra Nithin (115 marks) of West Godavari district got the first rank this year. K. Surya Teja (114 marks) of East Godavari and A.V.K. Sai Kumar (113 marks) of Ranga Reddy district stood second and third respectively.
