Court seeks explanation from Murali
Staff Reporter
THRISSUR:
The Thrissur District Judge, M.L. Joseph Francis, on Thursday sought an explanation from K. Muraleedharan, president of the National Congress (Indira), on an injunction violation petition filed by the president of the Nattika unit of the Congress, E.B. Unnikrishnan.
The petition, filed before the District Vacation Court, contended that Mr. Muraleedharan had violated the court order, on April 29, which sought to restrain him from using the flag and name of the Indian National Congress. The petition also argued that the flags of the National Congress (Indira) and the Indian National Congress were similar but for a picture of the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, in the latter. Mr. Muraleedharan had used the name and flag of the Indian National Congress as part of the convention, the petition argued.
