Karunakaran to head NC(I) panel

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The senior Congress leader K. Karunakaran would head the Parliamentary Board of the newly floated National Congress (Indira), his son and party president, K. Muraleedharan, said here today.

Participating in a meet-the-press programme here on Thursday, Mr. Muraleedharan said M.A. John would be the senior vice-president, N.K.A. Latheef (Ernakulam) vice-president and Kodoth Govindan Nair (Kasaragod) treasurer of the new party. The general secretaries of the new party are K.P. Kunhikannan, N. Vevugopal, M.T. Padma, Malippuram Bhaskaran, Jose Kattukkaran, Koyivila Ramachandran, N. Peethambara Kurup and Chithara Madhu and secretaries, Josey Sebastian, Ajiba M. Saheb, Pandalam Prathapan, G. Rathikumar, Sakir Hussain and Thrivikraman Thampi. Jose Thannikkal, Mangad Rajendran, K.P. Babu, Kodumon Gopinathan Nair, C.N. Somarajan, Kottara Vasudev, Kallara Sarasamma, N. Raghavan and V.K. Assayi Haji are members of the party executive committee. Former Kerala Congress MLA M.V. Mani and former deputy speaker K.M. Hamsa Kunju would be permanent invitees.
