NALGONDA: Defending the Congress Government's decision to hold talks with Maoists, the Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy, said that the first round of talks could create confidence among other States in the country. ``Successive Governments had used allopathic medicines to cure the ailment (naxalism), but in vain. This Government is taking a chance with Ayurvedic medicine,'' he said while addressing a meeting at the District Police Office here on Thursday night. Though it could not achieve the target, the Government's initiative could steer clear so many things, he maintained. "People used to wonder whether the naxals come out of jungles to sit with the Government across the table. On the other hand, naxals also feared that the Government would not spare them once they came out of their territory,'' he said claiming that Andhra Pradesh could instil confidence among other naxal-affected States.
