Corporation gym opened

MADURAI: : The Mayor, C. Ramachandran, inaugurated a gym on the Corporation swimming pool premises on Thursday. The Commissioner, D.J. Dinakkaren was present.

The building has been constructed at a cost of Rs.8 lakhs with 18 types of equipment worth Rs.3 lakhs.

Later, the Mayor inaugurated a high-mast lamp at the traffic island on Melur road near K.K. Nagar Arch. Twelve 400-watt metal halogen bulbs have been installed in the mast to light a radius of 35 metres. This is the 10th high mast lamp erected in the city. The City Engineer, K. Sathivel, was present.
