THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Post Graduates' Association of Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, has demanded that the Super Speciality DM, MCH entrance examinations in the State to be conducted on June 11 and 12 be postponed. In a statement here, the Association said that the National Board's DNB final exam and the Super Speciality entrance exams of Delhi University and JIPMER, Pondicherry, were being conducted on the same days. The dates for the exams had been fixed months ago, the Association added. Several doctors from the State had been preparing months ahead to appear for the exams. By fixing the State's super speciality exams on the same dates, they would lose the opportunity to pursue higher education in other institutions, the Association said. It is a pre-requisite for doctors appearing for super speciality entrance examinations in the State that they possess the post-graduate (PG) pass certificate. The Association also appealed that final year PG medicos be allowed to write the entrance exam on condition that they produce their pass certificate whenever required.
