HYDERABAD: The condition of Siddappa, who was allegedly beaten up by IPS probationers, was stable though his pulse rate had been fluctuating, the doctors of Jubilee Hills Apollo Hospitals said on Thursday. He was shifted to Usha Mohan Hospital in Hyderguda on May 1 after sustaining injuries during a clash with IPS trainees the previous night. The Rajendranagar police shifted him to Apollo Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday as he complained of chest pain. Within an hour of admission, primary angioplasty was performed and a stent was planted, the doctors claimed. However, his blood pressure was not normal and kept changing. Hence, he was being supported by drugs and Intra Arotic Balloon Pump (IABP), the doctors maintained. Meanwhile, Siddappa's son, Venkatesh, said he was worried over the mounting hospital bill though the police promised to take care of the matter. "We didn't pay a single paisa till now. But, the lakhs of rupees bill is staring at our poor family," a worried Venkatesh told reporters at the hospital. Asked about the treatment expenses, the hospital authorities said neither the police who brought Siddappa to the hospital nor his family members paid any money so far. The Rajendranagar police said they did not promise Siddappa's family that they would pay the bill.
