HYDERABAD: The "Invisible CEO" has finally come out in the open. And he wants more youngsters to tread his path. That path where one, despite recurring challenges and hardships, sticks onto one's dream and realises it. A.G. Krishnamurthy, who till recently headed, from behind the curtains as the sobriquet says, one of India's best known advertising agencies, Mudra Communications, says his book, `The Invisible CEO', is not an autobiography nor a memoir. It was his "fourth daughter," he said after Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Chairman, K. Anji Reddy, released the book at the Crossword bookstore here on Thursday.
Inspirational work
"It is an inspirational book, which tells the reader that if he has a dream, go out and do it, without ever backing off. It is a simple, honest no-nonsense book, right from my heart, written with a lot of passion. In fact, when I handed over the manuscript to the publishing company, Tata McGraw-Hill, it was like parting with my daughter. That parting experience, I already had it three times in my life when my daughters got married, and this book gave me the fourth," Mr. Krishnamurthy said. The essence of the book, he continued, was based on the theme, "No matter how different you are, or how much of an `odd man out' you feel, if you believe strongly enough and long enough, it is possible to continue to be who you are and to make a success out of doing what you love."
The message
The message was to have the patience to live with one's vision till it was realised, he said, adding that contemporary youngsters wanted quick returns. "But real success sometimes takes 10 or even 20 years. Life happens just once, make the maximum out of it." The book covers the spirit and adventure of Mudra, nuggets of Mr. Krishnamurthy's life at Mudra and also a look at some of the most successful, "hardworking" advertisement campaigns. It is available from Crossword at Shopper's Stop, Begumpet, at Rs. 250.
