HYDERABAD: Syed Ali Asalath alias `Prince', a history-sheeter who was allegedly involved in several cheating cases, was arrested by Hyderabad Police Task Force (South) officials on Thursday. Seven non-bailable warrants were pending against him.

A resident of Noorkhan Bazar, Asalath allegedly kidnapped Princess Fatima Fouzia, daughter of Prince Muakffam Jah Bahadur, in 1992, took her to Mumbai and married her.

A case was registered against him in the Jubilee Hills police station in this regard.

Posing as a prince, he used to stay in star hotels, move in luxury cars and impress rich persons with his lavish lifestyle.

Earlier, he was arrested by the Hyderabad Detective Department on January 17, 2002.
