Woman found murdered

A woman, Kamala (40), was found strangled to death in her rented house in Gowthaminagar in Malkajgiri on Thursday. A native of Kondamadugu village in Nalgonda district, the victim deserted her first husband, Anjaneyulu, and was living with Narayana, a civil contractor. Narayana told the police that he came to the house around 3 p.m. and saw her lying dead.

Succumbs to injuries

A septuagenarian, Laxmamma, who was attacked allegedly by her daughter-in-law, Rani (35), with a pestle four days ago, succumbed to her injuries in Osmania General Hospital on Thursday.

Held with fake passports

Two persons possessing forged travel documents were arrested at the Begumpet airport on Wednesday. J. Anjanna and Shaik Moulana, who flew from Dubai to city, were found travelling with passports of T. Bujjaiah and V. Devaraju respectively.

Phone call racket busted

Two persons -- Syed Ashwaq Ahmed and Mohd. Tajuddin -- were arrested on Thursday on the charge of illegally routing international telephone calls and thereby causing huge revenue loss to the Government. The duo was found routing the calls with Voice Over Internet Protocol Gateway router equipment with proper permission from the Department of Telecommunications, a press release said.
