NEW DELHI: The private power distribution company catering to North and North-West Delhi -- North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) -- on Thursday announced a tie-up with the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) to offer its consumers the facility for third-party testing of its electronic meters. The CPRI is an independent government institution for testing and certification of power equipments and is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). According to an NDPL spokesperson, consumers who have earlier got their meters tested through NDPL and now want their meters to be re-tested by the CPRI could avail this facility. In such cases, meter would be tested in the presence of the CPRI experts at consumer's premises and the test report would be issued to the consumer. Consumers willing to get their meter re-tested were required to send their request through president or secretary of the area resident welfare association (RWA), industrial association, market association, MLA, MP or a Minister. To avail this facility, a consumer has to fill-up an application form, get it certified by any of the authorities mentioned above and submit it to the NDPL. Along with the application forms, consumers were required to submit a copy of the last meter testing report and last paid bill, he added. The application forms are available with the NDPL's Consumer Relations Officers (CROs) while the same can be downloaded from NDPL's website -- www.ndplonline.com. Consumers can also call on the NDPL's Commercial Call Centre at 55111912 to get any detail on the re-testing procedure.
