WASHINGTON: U.S. President George W Bush has hailed the capture of Abu Farraj Al-Libbi in Pakistan as a major blow to the Osama bin Laden's network. The National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said American forces played a role in the arrest. "We provided active support." A Pakistani official has been quoted in The Washington Post as saying the capture followed American intelligence inputs gleaned by forces operating in Afghanistan. But Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Pakistan deserved much or all of the credit for the capture. "The Pakistanis are to be congratulated for the hard work they did. They've been fighting in parts of Pakistan that have not been even open to Pakistani forces for a very long time and so this is a great victory for them."
