ALAPPUZHA: The fourth anniversary of the UDF Government will be celebrated with various programmes in the district, an official release said. The Rajiv Gandhi pavilion at the Nehru Trophy Boat Race finishing point will be inaugurated as a part of the programme. One lakh saplings would be distributed in the district as a part of the social forestry programme. A seminar on Value Added Tax (VAT) would be organised in the district to create awarenessa among the public. The seminar would be organised by the Department of Taxes. Another seminar on floriculture would also be organised. The Water Resources Department would inaugurate four small-scale water supply schemes in the district. The Water Transport Department would press four new steel boats into service. The department would also start two new boat services in the district, the release said.
