HYDERABAD: The Mayor, T.Krishna Reddy, on Friday demanded an apology from the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee for the `insulting' remarks made about his post. In a press release issued here, Mr.Reddy took objection to PCC's statement on his post being ceremonial in nature and said, "the Congress which promised more powers to local bodies before elections is now insulting a Mayor." Stating he had never criticised the Chief Minister, Mr.Reddy termed it unfortunate that the PCC was not aware of the CM's announcement on continuing all the programmes except Janmabhoomi. "There is no need for us to learn about Mayor's rights or responsibilities from the PCC leaders," the Mayor's statement added.
