dated May 9, 1955: MP dies in Lok Sabha

On the closing day of the budget session and at the moment when it was about to adjourn sine die the Lok Sabha witnessed the sudden collapse and instantaneous death of a Member immediately after he had concluded his speech. Mr. Hirasingh Chinaria, Congress member from PEPSU, spoke vigorously attacking the Hindu Succession Bill and demanded its withdrawal. Highly emotional by temperament and prone to heart affliction, Mr. Chinaria apparently outstepped the limits set by the doctors. He worked himself up to a state of excitement which proved fatal.
