THRISSUR: The fifth edition of the Royal Challenge Kerala Premier Football League will get underway at the Sree Kerala Varma College ground here from Monday, with six top club teams in the fray for the top honours. The 10-day premier event will witness holder State Bank of Travancore, Travancore Titanium, Kerala State Electricity Board (all from Thiruvananthapuram), Viva Kerala, Kochi Port Trust and Central Excise (all from Ernakulam) in action. Giving details of the tournament, the KFA Secretary, K.P. Sunny, said teams have been divided into two groups for the preliminary league. The top two from each pool will qualify for the semifinals, scheduled to be held on May 15 and 16. The final is slated for May 18.Premier League groupings: Pool A: Kerala State Electricity Board, Kochi Port Trust and Viva Kerala. Pool B: State Bank of Travancore, Central Excise and Travancore Titanium.
