Inspirational Lea(n)der Sir, Leander Paes inspired the Indians to victory over Uzbekistan. With a 74-30 win-loss record in Davis Cup, Leander has pulled level with the Brazilian player of the sixties, Tomas Koch, who had a 74-44 record. Considering his passion while playing for the country and his team spirit, there is more to come from Leander. K.V. Raman, New Delhi

Excellent show
Sir, It is a matter of pride that Indians have begun to make a mark in international golf with some excellent showing in recent times by Arjun Atwal, Jeev Milkha Singh and Jyoti Randhawa. They should be breaking into the big league before long and it is only a matter of time before some Major titles come the Indians' way.

Domestic cricket
Sir, India has to learn from Australia about the importance of domestic cricket. Top players there regularly play in domestic fixtures.
A Test player, struggling with his form, can utilise the domestic competition to regain confidence. The BCCI should draft the annual calendar in such a way that domestic cricket gets its due importance.
