NEW DELHI: Delhi Tourism Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely announced on Sunday that people would soon be able to enjoy rides on water scooters, motorised shikaras and water boats at Tihar Lake in South-West Delhi. Inspecting the lake area along with former Industry Minister, Harsharan Singh Balli and Director of the Delhi Transport and Tourism Development Corporation Ramesh Negi, the Minister said the entire 15-acres area would be given a facelift. A cafeteria would be opened in the newly constructed building and an adventure camp would be held for teenagers and adults, he added. Aimed at developing Delhi as a tourist hub, Mr. Lovely said more such parks, picnic huts, cafeterias and coffee homes would be set up in different parts of the city. "Yoga classes, morning ragas and bhajans would be held in the parks. To familiarise people with the historical and archaeological sites of the city, the number of tourist buses would be increased," he added. Buoyed by the success of Dilli Haat, Mr. Lovely said more such crafts bazaars would be opened at Pitampura in North Delhi and Geeta Colony in East Delhi.
