Four killed in road accidents

BANGALORE: Four persons were killed in separate accidents reported in the city on Saturday.

Two persons on a motorcycle were killed when a mini lorry hit the vehicle in the Byatarayanapura traffic police station limits.

H. Huchappa (45) of Jnanabharathi was driving the vehicle and Gangadharaiah (20) of Bapuji Nagar was riding pillion, police said.

In another accident, Basavaraj (20) was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was knocked down by a lorry near K.R. Puram railway station in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits.

Basavaraj was admitted to a private hospital, where he died, police said.

The lorry driver is absconding.

In the third incident, Chikkanna (27) was killed when two motorcycles rammed his scooter while negotiating a turn at Tirumala Cross on Hesaraghatta Main Road.

Chikkanna was taken to the M.S. Ramaiah Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.
