NEW DELHI: An Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Head Constable of Delhi police posted in the Seelampur police station were suspended on Sunday on charges of dereliction of duty. The policemen had failed to inform the family of an accident victim who later died in hospital. The policemen - ASI Subhash and Head Constable Ramesh Kumar - were investigating an accident case in which one Makhanlal, a resident of South Gamri in Kartar Nagar area, was seriously injured in a road accident on GT Road in North-East Delhi late on Friday night while he was returning from office. Despite having his vehicle's registration number as well as his identity card, the cops failed to inform Makhanlal's family.
