Controversial flight

This refers to the editorial, `Flight into controversy' (May 7). A Commission appointed to inquire into allegations of corruption is itself accused of misusing official machinery. Justice S.N. Phukan's statement that "I did not ask for a VIP aircraft" is not convincing. As you have rightly stated, Justice Phukan should not have accepted any hospitality from the Defence Ministry since he was probing the allegations of corruption in the same Ministry.
