Triple talaq

The unique privilege given to Muslim men — of pronouncing talaq three times — to get rid of the marital bond has, unfortunately, not been obliterated by the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board's model nikahnama. In fact, a nikhanama should provide more safeguards for a divorced woman in regard to maintenance and return of dowry and other articles given at the time of marriage.
