GULBARGA: One of the senior-most journalists in the Hyderabad Karnataka region, B. Mahadevappa, will be felicitated by his friends and admirers at Yadgir town on May 14. He will be presented a cheque for Rs. 5 lakhs as a mark of respect and recognition of his contribution to journalism and his fight against untouchability. Mr. Mahadevappa, who has won the Rajyotsava Award, had worked as chief reporter of Prajavani, before taking up the fight against untouchability and upholding the ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Hyderabad Karnataka region, under the leadership of the former Minister Vishwanath Reddy Mudnal. Mr. Mahadevappa was editor of the Kannada monthly Vishwa Kalyana and Arivu Achara. According to Mr. Mudnal, Mr. Mahadevappa will be felicitated by the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, who is also Mr. Mahadevappa's classmate.
