HUBLI: A man who tried to snatch a bag containing Rs. 1.38 lakhs was caught by the public and handed over to the police on Monday. The incident happened in the afternoon at the Neeligen Road branch of Bank of Baroda. Ramesh Deshi, a manager in the local Bellad and Company, had withdrawn Rs. 1.38 lakhs from the company's account and was about to leave when the accused drew his attention to some Rs. 10 notes on the floor. When Mr. Ramesh turned in that direction, the accused snatched his bag and tried to escape. Mr. Ramesh chased the thief and the staff and some customers present in the bank caught him. Later the police were informed and they took him into custody. The police gave the name of the arrested as Kishorechandra from Tiruchirapalli. The Suburban Police have registered a case.
