Girl raped, set on fire
YAVATMAL (MAHARASHTRA):
A teenage girl was allegedly raped and set on fire at Saikheda village in the district by a person whose advances she had spurned, the police said here on Monday.
The incident occurred on Saturday, when the 16-year-old victim was alone in her house, they said.
The girl has been admitted to the Government Medical College here where her condition was stated to be serious.
According to the victim's statement, Sanjay Madavi, the accused, raped her and set her ablaze after dousing her with kerosene.
The girl was rushed to hospital by neighbours who came to her rescue on hearing her screams.
