Guide book

NEW DELHI: The Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi, B.L. Joshi, on Monday released a compendium titled "Clinically Useful Herbal Drugs'' at Raj Nivas here.

Releasing the book, Mr. Joshi said the work by S.S. Agarwal would prove useful to academicians, researchers and professionals in the field of medicine, Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. The book is a compendium of about 150 herbal drugs used therapeutically.

Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Dr. Agarwal is the Principal of the Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research and President of the Indian Pharmacological Society.

Cheques presented

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party president, Harsh Vardhan, handed over cheques to 40 widows at a function here over the weekend.

Dr. Vardhan presented the amount to the needy widows in his Krishna Nagar constituency.

Annual Day

NEW DELHI: The Kendriya Vidyalaya at Rohini here celebrated its Annual Day here over the weekend. The Director of the Central Tibetan School Administration, M.S. Verma, was the chief guest.

The Nominee Chairman of the Vidyalaya, S.M. Manishi, distributed prizes to the students, while the Prinicpal, G.R. Singh, presented the Annual Report.

SPACE camp

NEW DELHI: Members of the Astronomy Club of Bal Bharati Public School, Ganga Ram Hospital Marg, recently attended a night observation camp at Nuh in Gurgaon. The camp was organised by SPACE.

During the camp, the students got an opportunity to witness such celestial wonders as "Saturn with its stars', and "Jupiter with its moons'' through telescopes and binoculars. They also watched the constellations namely Scorpio, Libra, Great Bear with their naked eyes.

The students also familiarised themselves with the working of telescopes and binoculars.

Trains extended

NEW DELHI: Northern Railways has extended the running of three trains, terminating at Old and New Delhi stations, up to Delhi Sarai Rohilla station.

The trains--Dehradun Delhi Mussorie Express, Kathgodam-Delhi Ranikhet Express and Patna-Delhi Jan Sadharan Express--would extend their run from Tuesday, a statement said here on Monday.

Water supply

NEW DELHI: Due to leakage in the main line supplying water to Jor Bagh boosting station on Lodi Road, water supply will be remain affected in Lodi Road, Jor Bagh and adjoining colonies on Wednesday evening, an NDMC release said.
