NALGONDA: The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday undertook Jala Chaitanya Yatra demanding that the State Government supply water to the fluoride-hit Samsthan Narayanapur mandal.

Launching the `scooter yatra' at Kompalle in Munugode mandal, the BJP in-charge of Nalgonda district affairs, D. Surender Reddy, asked the State Government to supply Musi water for irrigation purposes and Krishna water for drinking to the affected villages in Narayanapur mandal.

He said in the absence of proper supply of water to the fluoride-affected mandal, people were subjected to untold harships.

The party district unit secretary, Veerelli Chandrasekhar, said that the yatra would culminate in a public meeting in Naryanapur on Tuesday.

The party president, Kalasika Pavan Kumar, was also present.
