UDUPI: The Tourism and district in-charge Minister, D.T. Jayakumar, said on Monday that the District Government Hospital here is in a mess. Mr. Jayakumar told presspersons that the hospital lacks basic facilities. The District Surgeon is on leave and the in-charge official failed to give convincing answers. Patients are not given proper food in the hospital. He wanted to know why only one person has been supplying food to the hospital for 40 years. The Minister said Sunanda, a teacher from Manipur who had come to the hospital for pain in the leg, was being treated for mental illness.
